Sinds de komst aangaande de Koerdische regering in 2005 kan zijn Erbil een nieuwe weg ingeslagen. Een stad wordt via velen gezien ingeval de toegang tot een economisch Irak en een voorbeeld vanwege de rest betreffende nederland.
